“Rebuild Your Virtual Business.Com” seminar March 6-8, 2009 in Austin, TX  for entrepreneurs who might be overwhelmed by technology, helping them reach customers world-wide and create the systems and team they need to have a purposeful and profitable online business.

An online business is quickly becoming one of the most successful ways to reach customers worldwide and rise above the current economic situation – but it works for some, and it doesn’t work for others. If you want to be in the “works for” category, approach your online business with a good vision and careful planning. Then get the help you need to handle the things that you’re not comfortable doing yourself.

It’s no secret that the financial markets are in turmoil and that many people have lost money, or are losing it. It’s also no secret that to thrive in a market such as this, most people are looking for ways to reduce their overhead and maximize their profits.

“A good part of the fear people are having over the economy is media-driven. There’s always a window of opportunity during difficult times, and the World Wide Web can broaden that window in so many ways.” says Ann Collins, professional project manager and business woman of 20 years.   When your business is on the internet, you’re truly offering your products and services to the entire world, and you’re not limited to any geographic area.

But if setting up shop on the Internet is such a good idea, why isn’t everyone who puts up a website wildly successful? All you have to do is throw a website up, put your products on line and the money will start rolling in. Right?

“Well - not exactly. Like any other business; you need customers. Getting visitors to your site is a lot like getting people to come into a brick and mortar business,” says Michelle Casto, Ph.D.  People need to know that your site exists, and you need to find ways to keep them coming back to visit you. Just because you’re working online doesn’t mean you can overlook professionalism, and good marketing principles.

You also need the systems in place to take orders, distribute your products, and communicate effectively with your customers. Many - if not all - of these systems are automated and require some level of technical knowledge to set up. What do you do if you don’t have that knowledge? Just like any other aspect of starting a business, you find a trustworthy person to handle those things for you.

Most people fail on line for one (or all) of 3 reasons: Either they are not coming from a place of purpose, they become overwhelmed by the complexity of all the pieces required and give up, or they don’t put the planning and forethought that’s needed to get all the systems running smoothly and working toward their vision of an online business.

In any case, they can wind up needing to rebuild their virtual business after they’ve started building it – sort of like someone who’s decided to remodel their own house, only to find out that they’ve got to call in a pro.
