There is no more joyous time for interior design professionals in Panama than the month of February. The design community starts moving as homeowners recover financially and emotionally from the Christmas season and invest in themselves. People get inspired, people once again move to decorate their home and office. The quest for the most balanced and beautiful environment is once again in the air.
But nothing.. nothing puts a bigger smile on the face of an interior design professional than a new fabric collection from Nostalgia. The first of Nostalgia's 2009 collection has arrived and with it the best first quality textiles in the Panama from the world's finest mills. A luxurious initial iteration that will soon blossom into sofas, chairs, pillows, curtains and drapes all over the Republic.
What to expect this year? An expansion on some trends set in 2008 as well as something a bit more natural says company co-owner, Leo Wiznitzer."You are going to see two extremes which are the metallics which are very glimmery, and very shiny versus the naturals which are very cottony, very lineny, a lot of embroidery. Whereas a lot of embroidery is usually done on silk, it is now being done on linen."
Already close to one-hundred fabrics have arrived, with more set to arrive on a monthly basis, bringing something new to the design professional or casual customer every time they come in.
"Something you can see in the current arrivals are beautiful silks with watercolor-like patterns on them. Something very new and quite bold." shares Eve Wiznitzer, co-owner of Nostalgia Design Studio.
Best of all is that the recession hitting North America, Europe and much of the world has forced mills and designer houses to lower prices: a fact which will have fabrics placed in price ranges never seen before, offering tremendous value to the end customer.
