FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Feb 16, 2009 – Already considered as two of the most convenient network devices at homes and office, the latest 3 bay and 4 bay NAS from Thecus®, N3200PRO and N4100PRO, are receiving enormous welcome around the globe. Not only providing huge storage capacity, but also reliable data protection with RAID mechanism and tons of application features, Thecus® N3200PRO and N4100PRO are both designed to operate at minimal electricity. Operating at long hours, both devices are no burden on your utility bill and giving 24/7 digitalized convenience.

Since NAS devices usually operate at long period of time, power consumption is a major concern for users. With their energy saving design, both N3200PRO and N4100PRO require minimal power to execute tasks. Below is power consumption under 3 operation statuses:

N3200PRO
Without HDDs : 12 W
During Access: 36 W
During HDD Spin-down: 17 W

N4100PRO
Without HDDs : 22 W
During Access: 56 W
During HDD Spin-down: 28 W

※ with Hitachi Deskstar™ 500GB hard drive disks

The average office desktop PC draws approx. 110W of electricity. Therefore, loaded with high capacity hard drives and maximum loading, both N3200PRO and N4100PRO power consumption is 67% and 50% lower than average PC respectively. In addition, comparing with other NAS devices in the same category, which usually requires more than 80W of electricity, both N3200PRO and N4100PRO are at least 30% less. They are considered as energy saving devices and are applicable to network environment. Users do not need to worry about huge electricity bill when leaving Thecus NAS running for a long time. The energy conserving design allows the device to operate with minimal electricity.
