Eugene, OR--We are pleased to announce that for a limited time, caregivers who qualify can receive up to 4 Foster Parent College class units, courtesy of Casey Family Programs. The Casey Family Programs Scholarships are available to self-registered foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers for whom the cost of parent training poses a financial challenge.
Foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers who do not receive FPC training units through their agency and would like to enroll in classes can apply for scholarships beginning February 15. Scholarships will be available for 6 months, or until all 2,000 units have been distributed.
Foster Parent College provides affordable online training for foster, adoptive and kinship parents. Classes are research-based and lead by experts in parenting, pediatrics, psychology, social work, child development, and education. Over 1,000 agencies in the US, Canada, England and Australia accept and purchase Foster Parent College trainings for their resource parents.
Casey Family Programs’ mission is to provide and improve—and ultimately to prevent the need for—foster care. Established by United Parcel Service founder Jim Casey, the Seattle-based national operating foundation has served children, youth, and families in the child welfare system since 1966.
