Feb. 14, 2009 - PRLog -- Bristol, UK  For people who don’t understand the jargon associated with it, search engine optimisation or SEO can be a confusing subject.  However, according to digital marketing experts, integrating SEO into your web strategy isn’t as difficult as many people think.

David Meerman Scott, best-selling author of The New Rules of Marketing and PR, discusses simple ways to integrate SEO into your web strategy in a new business TV show on yourBusinessChannel.  He explains that SEO isn’t actually that confusing, and shares a detailed method of optimisation which will enhance your small business marketing strategies (http://www.yourbusinesschannel.com/section/marketing).

According to Scott, a key part of your web strategy is to publish attractive content on your site.  The more interesting the content, the more it will be shared by your customers in blogs, on their business websites, or on social networking pages.

With others linking to your page, your search engine rankings will increase because you are appearing more frequently on the internet.  This is important to remember, as people sometimes consider that using a particular set keywords on their own website copy as the be all and end all of an SEO strategy.

When discussing web strategies (http://www.yourbusinesschannel.com/portal/david_scott), Scott shares his own personal experience of creating an e-book.  He says that this was a great internet strategy and is one that can be used as a small business marketing strategy.

Having great SEO keywords and using them throughout your site is only effective if your site is interesting and helpful to begin with.  According to Scott, good SEO keywords will not improve a poor site.  You may get more people viewing the website, but few of them will stay: not a desirable web strategy.
