- Discover a Superhero -
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a flying tranny!
A new Brit flick is going where Hollywood dared not with the world's first cross-dressing superhero. Catalina is a distinctly British subversion of the popular genre.
Catalina: A New Kind of Superhero is the story of an ordinary Joe who discovers he's more of a Joanna with balls of steel when he dons a dress.
Produced written and directed by Kenneth D Barker - a Leeds-based veteran of low budget movie-making (a la Roger Corman) - Catalina is a superhero with a feminine touch.
When planet destroying General Krillgarth the Negative threatens to crush earth it's up to Catalina to save the planet. But will her cutting one-liners and manicured nails be a match for the General? In a world gone mad Catalina could be man's last hope.
Lasting 98 minutes and boasting over 340 special effects, Catalina is like nothing you have ever seen before - or are likely to again.
"We have an enduring love of superhero movies,” said Barker. “But the genre was ripe for a flip on its head and I know there is nothing like Catalina. Her feminine charms and macho attributes make her the ideal candidate when it comes to Earth-saving”
"People, who see this movie will be entertained, enlightened - and possibly even a little aroused!"
