Calgary, Alberta – Alberta oil-sands companies are forced to clean up their tailings ponds with the recent announcement from The Energy Resources Conservation Board now placing stringent regulations on all tailings ponds in Alberta. The new regulations have placed time lines on the reclaiming process which have these companies seeking immediate solutions. Some of the tailings ponds go back as far as four decades which causes a need to have a facility that can handle such a large job. Such a facility will take time to build and drastically increase costs.
Tangent Environmental Technologies has designed a portable waste water filtration system called the Cascade Waste Water System. The system decreases liability, recovers hydrocarbons, removes NORMS, detergents, salt, sand, and is a solution that will help the oil-sands companies reclaim their tailings ponds. This system is currently being used world-wide and will provide a faster response time because of the size and portability of the unit. Best of all, the system is designed in Alberta.
The Cascade Waste Water System Product Highlights:
-The system will remove both solid and liquid contaminants and can recover up to seven metric tons per hour of hydrocarbons from contaminated surface waste water.
-The system also removes solvents, detergents, NORMS as well as solids from a maximum of one hundred (100) microns to as low as five (5) microns.
-The system recycles contaminated water and returns the recycled water back to the original source or the recycled water can be disposed of through evaporation if needed.
-Integrated filter cleaning technology for reduced outsourcing time, costs and liability from filter utilization.
