Dr. James A. Kaufman, international expert on laboratory safety will be presenting a Two-Day Lab Safety Short Course at the Prince Kuhio Federal Building in Honolulu, Hawaii, beginning on February 24, 2009. Dr. Kaufman is the founder and President of The Laboratory Safety Institute (LSI), the only international, non-profit center for safety in science and science education. He is the author and narrator of the American Chemical Society's Audio Course on Laboratory Safety and editor of "Waste Disposal at Academic Institutions"
from Lewis Publishers. Most recently, he co-authored “Safety Is Elementary: the new standard for safety in the elementary science classroom”. And his publication “Laboratory Safety Guidelines – 40 suggestions for a Safer Lab” is the most widely circulated laboratory safety booklet in the world.
