FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 12, 2009 -
(Toronto)  -- Chad Hughes, President and CEO of ResQ, Canada’s leader of GPS-enabled tracking solutions, today announced the release of Trackberry™, a turnkey enterprise solution enabling employers to track valuable mobile assets in the field, while additionally accessing a record of their activities.  “Based on demand from our customers,” explains Hughes, “we tasked our programmers to develop a simple application in order to track a Blackberry.  This project was completed last year, tested and has now been launched.”

The results are multi-fold.  Once installed onto any employee’s GPS-enabled device, the downloadable application relays at regular intervals its location that is conveyed online through a secure web portal.  As a fully integrated solution, ResQ also provides a real-time suite of reports that fleet managers find extremely useful, and several features to ensure not only efficiency but also the safety of those employees required to work alone.

“We’ve been asked by executives whether the application would also track wayward teens who say they are visiting one friend and end up visiting another,” Hughes continues. “This of course is merely an equation of the user keeping their Blackberry turned on throughout the evening and parents can then easily track their child’s meanderings and addresses visited.  Similarly, the application is quite useful when tracking parents of parents who occasionally get lost.”

Ideally created for service and sales personnel, data is transmitted at specified intervals to any assigned office, which immediately empowers dispatchers and routing managers.  Trip Reports provide subsequent information, via GPS functionality, such as monitoring the unit’s speed and idle time.  In each case, staffmembers are able to easily set those reporting parameters.

Trip Reports and Breadcrumb Trails are kept as a historical record for 90 days.  Furthermore, administrators are able to create Geofences surrounding destinations to understand when the employee arrived and left a critical zone.  This activity is graphically displayed as a breadcrumb trail – so long as the mobile employee is in possession of the device and it is turned on.

“The Trackberry™ application costs approximately $15 a month over a three year term,” concludes Hughes, “or $25 a month for a short-term one year contract.  For long distance travelers, roaming charges will apply, as typical Canadian data plans cover 3MB per month.”
