The people of Wales have always been proud of their heritage and tradition and so the West Glamorgan Archive Service, Swansea Museum and Swansea Libraries will be teaming up to celebrate St. David’s Day, with a glorious look back through the years.
The exhibition called ‘Our National Day: A Look Back Through Time’ will be on display at Swansea’s Civic Centre from 17 February until 1 March and is part of the ‘St. David’s Week in Swansea’ festivities, which involve a huge variety of activities taking place all over the city in the run up to St. David’s Day.
Personal stories, pictures and other fascinating facts about how the people of Swansea have enjoyed the celebrations over the last 100 years will be exhibited, in this rare look back at the lives of the people throughout the last century.
The exhibition will also include local newspaper clippings and a selection of interesting works of art depicting the passion and colour of our national patron’s day.
The West Glamorgan Archive Service will also be stocking a range of Welsh themed greeting cards in the shop, for visitors to purchase, send and share their sentiments with their family, friends or loved ones.
The West Glamorgan Archive Service is open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm and also Saturday from 10am – 4pm. For further information, telephone 01792 636589 or visit http://www.swansea.gov.uk/
