The Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce and The PMI Group, Inc., in association with Chevron Corporation, convene the 2009 East Bay Women’s Conference, Creating Impact – Influencing Positive Change, Monday, March 2, 2009, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the San Ramon Marriott, 2600 Bishop Drive, San Ramon, CA.
This year’s conference, with KGO Radio’s Rosie Allen as emcee, focuses on contemporary issues and features experts who will offer tools for surviving today’s economic environment, embracing social networking, anticipating micro and macro trends, building leadership skills, improving personal health, and giving back to our communities. Organizers again expect a sold out attendance of 550.
Keynote speaker Isabel Allende is a renowned novelist, teacher, journalist, and celebrated human rights advocate. Her Isabel Allende Foundation supports organizations that help women and children by providing education, healthcare, protection, and the means to empowerment.
Kickoff speaker Elizabeth Colton is president of the International Museum of Women (San Francisco), a groundbreaking social change museum that inspires global action, connects people across borders, and amplifies the voices of women worldwide through global exhibitions and cultural programs. Featured speaker Meagan Johnson, a vivacious, professional communicator, helps companies embrace and navigate today’s multi-generational workforce and will share her humor and insight as a Gen-Xer herself.

The bookstore, hosted by Lafayette Books, will be stocked with niche books and those written by EBWC speakers; Isabel Allende will be signing copies of her best-selling memoir The Sum of Our Days.
