The Georgia Buccaneers are the newest team in the Deep South Football League for the upcoming 2009 spring season. The DSFL is an adult, semi-pro, full contact football league. The DSFL was established in 2006 by Jeff Hansard and Chad Randolph to give young athletes a second opportunity to pursue their dreams with the game of football. The Georgia Buccaneers team was established in 2008 by Jimmy and Wynona Singleterry and Hugh Dixon. The DSFL and the GA Buccaneers purpose and objectives are to give athletes an opportunity to continue their football careers if they so desire by possibly allowing them to be seen by college or pro-scouts, to give athletes a structured outlet to learn and grow through intense competition, and to provide a wholesome form of entertainment for the communities involved. The DSFL does not allow players to be paid and all teams are funded by 100% sponsorships and donations. Sponsors will have a presence on game day banners, programs, website banners, sponsored links, radio and pod casts etc. The Buccaneers season runs for 12 weeks beginning March 21st until June.
