Vancouver, Washington -- Cadet announced the winner of its essay contest: Greg Eisen of Seattle, Washington was chosen as the winner for his essay on “How a Cadet Heater Took the Chill off My Relationship.”
In his essay, Mr. Eisen noted that control of the thermostat was a constant battle in his household. “Her priority was to stay warm”, while he was “focused on saving money“. With Cadet’s heaters in specific rooms of their home, he and his wife were able to compromise and put an end to their thermostat arguments.
With permanently installed electric heaters, each room can be an individual temperature zone. Mr. Eisen’s wife sets her favorite “zone” to her comfort level, and turns down the heat in the rest of the house, allowing them to save on winter heating costs.
The idea for the essay contest originated from Cadet’s customers. “We often receive warranty cards from our customers that state ‘cold wife’ as the reason for purchase,“ said Laura Steele, Product Marketing Director at Cadet.
