With Solutions Factory 2.5, SpikeSource has created a significant time-saving offering for software developers with its Component Library. This library contains more than 5000 carefully selected open source components for developers who are creating proprietary, open source or hybrid application. SpikeSource has selected the 5000 components out of tens of thousands in leading open source repositories, Gentoo and CPAN, as well as the most popular downloads from SourceForge and most requested components from customers. Only a small portion of the components tested met the Solutions Factory criteria. This initial set of more than 5000 components forms the basis for a Component Library that will be continually expanded and updated.
New Intel Certification Increases IT Manager Confidence in Manageability Applications
Solutions Factory 2.5 also introduces a new test for Intel manageability certification. Intel manageability certification is awarded to software applications that pass the test for correctly and effectively using Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT), a feature of Intel® Centrino® processor with Intel® vPro™ technology and Intel® Core™2 processor with vPro™ technology. Intel® AMT allows IT professionals to better discover, heal and protect their networking computing assets. Certified applications can use built-in Intel hardware capabilities that enable them to discover and track hardware assets in the data center; troubleshoot, monitor performance and solve problems remotely; and receive alerts.
This certification is the second in a series of tests on advanced Intel hardware technology that are part of the Intel® Certified Solutions Program. The tests certify software applications against pre-defined standards on key Intel technologies such as Intel® multi-core technology and Intel® AMT. Applications certified on an advanced Intel hardware technology receive an Intel-branded certification badge. This badge tells consumers and enterprise companies that the software has been optimized for Intel hardware technology—creating a higher degree of trust and confidence in these certified products.

Intel Certified Solutions Program Helps Software Companies Expand Their Business
The Intel Certified Solutions Program is designed to help the broad market of software companies worldwide grow their businesses by establishing customer trust and confidence in their applications. Certification on advanced Intel hardware capabilities sets the application apart for customers, by increasing their confidence that the application will perform as promised on advanced Intel technologies. The Intel Certified Solutions Program offers two program levels to ISVs that help them expand their business. All levels of the program are based on the SpikeSource Solutions Factory platform. Certified applications will receive special placement on Intel® Business Exchange (Intel® BX), increasing the company’s exposure to potential customers.
Security Builder: The Security Builder program level offers software companies the opportunity to certify their applications against a comprehensive database of security flaws and to receive alerts about changes to the underlying components in their applications. Then, if the software application has been enabled for an advanced Intel technology and it passes the certification test, the software company may also earn the Intel Certified badge and use it on collateral, web sites and in customer presentations about the certified application.
Market Builder: The Market Builder program adds tools and resources that software companies can use to grow their business. Companies choosing the Market Builder program have opportunities to have an Intel success story written about their certified application and to use marketing tools that help generate and nurture leads.
