I wrote this poem for a friend who was diagnosed with cancer.
Thinking Of You
You may feel scared and angry,
I’m sorry this has happened to you.
As your friend I feel so helpless,
I just don’t know what to do.
Words cannot express,
The pain, you must feel right now.
I wish I could make it all better,
I’m sorry.... I don’t know how.
Just know I’m always here for you,
Call on me night or day.
If it’s only just to talk,
Or kneel and silently pray.
If you need comfort, lean on me,
If you need strength, hold my hand,
Or if you need to be alone,
As your friend, I’ll understand.
As we journey down life’s highway,
The hills we must climb keep us strong,
But only God will know,
If our journey will be short or long.
May you have the strength and hope,
To meet each new tomorrow.
