BlackBrush To Test Edwards Acreage With New Drilling In Webb County, Texas

Feb. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- BlackBrush Operating, LP announced today that in a continuing effort to test the Edwards acreage held by BlackBrush in northern Webb County, Texas, BlackBrush has signed an agreement with a third party to drill a three underbalanced Eagleford and/or Buda lateral on its 13,000 acre block.  The first test was spud December 12, 2008 and will drill the vertical test well underbalanced in the Eagleford from 8200 feet to 8600 feet.  
This well offsets a well with a 1030 unit gas show and mud cut with associated drill break over a 100 foot of section in the Eagleford.  BlackBrush has a whole core from one of the recent wells on this block from the Eagleford that shows Total Organic Carbon range of 2.58- 5.88 weight percent with gas filled porosity at 7.54% out of a total porosity of 11.7%, suggesting a good potential for gas production.  The four wells that BlackBrush has drilled to the Edwards and GlenRose formations are in various stages of completion and production.  
Tests from the Edwards have ranged from 300 mcf gas per day to as high as 2.5 million cubic feet of gas production.  The Gordo Grande (Edwards) field is a back reef stratigraphic play with some structural components.
