Publisher's Note: The climate may or may not be warming, but it is negligent to assume we cannot do anything, our mission is to create awareness to the public, corporates, government and media to promote ecologically sustainable living, by getting CEO's to accept the need to change their product portfolios to greener options for the public to buy, since they control what we have available to buy, currently green products economies of scale are too small, making them expensive for most, but investment and scale brings the price down, amongst other initiatives is getting the public to modify their lifestyles in little ways where a lot of people making a little effort makes for big change.
When was the last time you thought about the environment, we all take it for granted in our comfortable first world lifestyles, but imagine a world with meteor showers not rain, UV rays that scorched your skin mutating the nuclei within the cells causing cancer with just minutes of exposure. Even now we see more natural disasters on TV and our insurance premiums always go up. None of us are making enough effort as our tangible risks are low and apathy is easier than action. WHAKAKAHA= make a strong effort.
People need to prioritise environmental awareness into their daily routine, and not laugh or scough at the thought, believing media hype and big brother is yet again trying to scare them. Apathy abounds because electrical power cuts are rare, communications lines are excellent, and one can talk, e-mail or fax the other side of the country or world with ease, like I am doing now. Yet, in reality, we all create pollution in some way, we all need to sleep and eat in a safe shelter. Maslov's criteria for survival, to obtain these, we need to interact with our environment. Like all nature, it is complex and smarter than us. At some point we need a form of media that can educate the general population that recycling and renewable power is good. It always costs a little more, but the quality life benefits, outweighs this! Education through Entertainment;
It will entertain with a cracking story and educate with fictional scenarios of the weather's wrath, some science combined with adventure. It will educate in fictional scenarios of what the weather could produce and its effect on our global civilization. If you are concerned about your environment, then take a stand. Nothing will get done unless a lot of people make a little effort. This new novel highlights the catastrophe that can ensue from corporate greed and a climate pushed out of control. Fictional adventure/thriller, with climate notes and a glossary, plus a global warming skeptics debate at the end. This is really good, plus from an ethical standpoint, you, the editor, journalist, or media owner have the power to persuade your target audience. This is a broad spectrum topic, where it affects every aspect of life, whether it is engineering, health, education, fashion, distribution, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, media, professionals, governments, legislation and most importantly large corporations. These are the most important people to get to change their product portfolios, a greener range will reduce costs over time, economies of scale, and they are a primary target for our mission, but you can help create awareness too on this important topic.
Therefore, if your next story or scoop is about the environment, ecology, global warming or the weather, then you should support this book. Even if it's not, these issues are so important to our future that you need to think twice before throwing it in the bin. Do you want to be responsible for continued complacency?
This is a great book from a talented new author, ADE PAUL; it took four years to write this two part novel. His writing style is exciting and keeps the reader fixed in the book's complex, but unraveling plot, as the characters deal with this potentially unthinkable reality. Next time you see a tree felled, that's one less habitat for an animal to live in, or see a river dammed for hydropower, or a road being carved into the landscape, all designed to make our lives easier and better. Except we do affect things, Newton's Third Law, ‘every action has an equal and opposite reaction', but we are usually too preoccupied in our own life's perspective, what we can't see won't hurt us?
We are all guilty of these selfish and naive acts for our own personal welfare and look on, believing the powers that be will take care of things. If enough people become aware of the book, read it and enjoy it enough to refer it to another friend or family member, and they do the same, the environmental message with slowly dissipate throughout the population. If you are not interested in this, then please e-mail me to advise environmental issues are not a priority to you and you care little for the environment of future generations, or not enough to bother even to reply or getting this message across to the masses is unnecessary.
