Across the Southland today there are several million men scrambling. If only there had been more warning ... more time to plan. Now the deadline is looming, and there is a sense of doom in the air. There is a woman in each of their lives that is expecting some serious romance from her knight, and a steak sandwich at Carl's probably isn't what she is fantasizing about.
On the other hand, what about a chocolate and poetry photo shoot party? Certainly there are a lot of romantic words in that idea, he thinks when he hears about it. Could this be the salvation he is seeking. A completely unique experience that she can tell her girlfriends about for weeks after. Now he is enjoying his own fantasy.
He pictures whisking her away from the hustle and bustle into a fully outfitted photo studio normally reserved for supermodels and stars. They are pampered by the staff with a divinely decadent chocolate menu and a bit of the bubbly. A seasoned professional photographer poses them to create a keepsake photo unlike any other. Several other couples, either friends invited to share the evening, or random couples who have signed up for the party, share in the fun.
This fantasy evening was the brainstorm of a trio of artists who first created the idea of Supermodel parties. Speaking for the team, Thea Piegdon explains, "We are all incurable romantics, and we have this beautiful photo studio in the historic Helm's Bakery Complex in Culver City. The first idea was to invite teen girls to experience a day as a supermodel along with seven of her friends. Everyone who has heard the idea thinks it is the best birthday party idea ever.
"Then with Valentines Day approaching we imagined the wide-eyed, blown away expressions on the faces of girlfriends and wives walking through the doors of our studio and into a surprise setting with towering reflective umbrellas, high powered cameras, and graceful backdrops. Then we added the chocolate menu and the poetry just to make the
evening that much more unforgettable."
