Vienna, VA—Award winning small business MicroTechnologies, LLC (d.b.a. MicroTech) announces their selection by the General Services Administration (GSA) to supply Professional Audio Video Equipment solutions to federal agencies under the GSA Schedule 58-I Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). This latest selection joins the list of other prominent government contract vehicles that allow MicroTech to sell Information Technology products and services directly to Federal agencies.
A Government-wide Acquisition Contract, better known as a GWAC, is a task order system established by an agency to make commercial products and services available for use across the Federal government. Under the GWAC program — also referred to as Multiple Award Schedules — the contracts provide agencies with a predetermined list of vendors to expedite the procurement of goods and services – over 11 million commercial supplies and services at last count.
According to an analysis last year by government business authority INPUT, spending on multiple-award task order contract vehicles by the Federal Government reached over $21 billion in Fiscal Year 2007, a 39% increase over the previous fiscal year.
“It’s vital to our Public Sector-focused business model to make our services and solutions easily available through Contract Vehicles like GSA 58-I,” said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech. “We have recently enhanced our product line by offering Visual Communications including Video Teleconferencing services and solutions, and through the 58-I GWAC which is focused on that product sector, we can potentially further develop our Federal client base.”
The GSA 58-I GWAC — “Professional Audio/Video, Telecommunications and Security Solutions ” — provides a vehicle for acquiring tools and technology for recording and reproducing, including audio-video equipment, monitors and receivers, television cameras, and closed-circuit surveillance equipment – along with design, installation, and network services.
MicroTech offers an array of Visual Telecommunications (VTC) solutions including Infrastructure services like Audio and Video Bridging that enables simultaneous connections between multiple sites, Audio-Visual Communications like Video Teleconferencing systems, and Secure Conferencing solutions such as Multipoint Video, Secure Audio Bridging, and MultiClass S3™ – the most integrated and fully-automated switching solution today.
MicroTech’s industry knowledge and in-depth, comprehensive understanding of government services, processes, and requirements has enhanced their ability to provide innovative and creative solutions to customers and partners that also do business with the Federal government. MicroTech is a prime contractor on several other prominent GWAC – and similar IDIQ – contracting vehicles including GSA Schedule 70, VETS GWAC, SEWP IV, Air Force CAAS III, Navy SeaPort-e, and Army REF.
“We continue to make great strides in reaching all corners of the Federal marketplace, and the GSA 58-I GWAC will help us to continue to achieve our business goals,” Jimenez said.
