Hard at work on your demo or EP? You may want to show it around the Southwest, specifically with Blues Farm Records in Clovis. The small indie label start up founded by Greg Royer has continued to bring aboard great new talent. Country artist Mark Kelley, rocker Gary Gorence and the legendary Sansietch have signed with the label. Now Tim O'Rourke, longtime rock, folk and blues musician from Albuquerque has signed with the label. Looks like Clovis is blazing another musical trail.
Tim O'Rourke has played across the United States with his own bands and as a solo act for several decades now. BFR says Tim is scheduled to do quite a few solo dates this summer, promoting the release of his upcoming CD. Dates should be posted soon on the website.
A country boy, originality from Missouri, Tim lives with his wife Laurie in their solar-adobe home in Placitas. Tim has written hundreds of songs over the years, many of which will be featured in an upcoming lyric poetry book. He pulls topics from the life around him. Love always remains a theme for him, as do various environmental issues.
The official website is http://timorourke.webs.com. You'll soon be able to sample songs, and they expect to have them available for individual download via Amazon.com this Spring. You can also find him on the labels official website, http://bluesfarm.webs.com.
Tim's solo music is a mix of acoustic and electric, rock and blues. Much of the music is folk style rock and blues, something Blues Farm Records is quick to point out. The label has been introducing folks to the unique brand of music made here in the southwest. Once again the indie label that could, warms us with the original sounds of New Mexico.
