Capay Canyon Ranch, a certified organic farm in The Capay Valley growing region of Northern California, has purchased a 10 Kilowatt PurePowerD™ Mobile Solar Power System™ for use in its agricultural operations.
“The use of solar energy just makes sense for California farms,” said David Watson, VP Sales of Pure Power Distribution, which leases and sells mobile solar units in a variety of industries. “We’re proud that our Mobile Solar Power System, which is designed and manufactured in California, will help bring organic Capay Valley food to the world.”
Capay Canyon Ranch, owned by Stan and Leslie Barth, includes 200 acres of organic almond and walnut trees, as well as Red Flame and Autumnal Royal grapes, which are known for its black-red skin and a crisp, crunchy bite. The 40 year-old family-owned farm sells its produce worldwide.
“It’s a logical step for organic farms to use solar energy,” says Corey Abel, who closed the sale. “Capay Canyon Ranch has extended its commitment to the environment by choosing power that requires no fuel, no risk of fuel spillage on sensitive farmland, and produces no toxic emissions to fall on crops.”
