The website is the culmination of two years of travel by long term backpacker, writer, and budget traveler, Matt Kepnes. With a team of other long term travelers, they put their collective knowledge into this new website, which is designed to take the unknown out of trip planning and help other long term or budget travelers avoid common rookie mistakes.

In order to better service its readers and site visitors, the website has been expanded to include two new sections on eco-tourism and flashpacking. It is important that the site stays updated and relevant as well as comprehensive in order to be the best travel planning resource out there.
