In January, the PG Channel on YouTube recorded more than 195,000 unique visitors.
PG has 355 gear videos freely accessible online at http://www.premierguitar.com/
“We feel that this is indicative of our constantly-growing online presence,” says Joe Coffey, Editorial Director for Premier Guitar. “This is a testament to our continuing commitment to delivering free multimedia content to guitarists, whenever, however and through whatever platforms they prefer.”
Jon Levy, formerly with Guitar Player and now one of Premier Guitar’s Managing Directors, commented on the importance of providing free multimedia content for readers and gear manufacturers, “this is a challenging year for everyone and . . . readers and advertisers . . . and we are committed to delivering free, first rate multimedia information to guitarists around the world since doing so increases knowledge and awareness which, in turn, increases knowledgeable purchasing...raising the water and lifting everyone’s boats!”
The YouTube audience boon is spurred by PG’s groundbreaking coverage of the guitar industry’s most important annual event. Premier Guitar shot more than 100 videos of interviews and gear demos during the 2009 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif. last month, far exceeding the efforts of any other media company.
The YouTube Partner Program features a collection of independent video creators and media companies. To qualify for the program, media entities must produce original videos to which they own copyright and such videos that must experience high levels of verified viewership on YouTube.
