Orlando, FL – Score for the Future, the Three Stars charity football league, commences its freshman season Wednesday, February 4th after a one week delay due to weather. The season will officially begin at 5:00 pm as the first of two games in the intra-company league will be played. The second game will immediately follow at 6:00 pm. Two games will be held each Wednesday for the duration of the season.
For each point scored during the league games, the company’s management will add five dollars to an outreach fund that will be used for charity events benefiting the local community. A committee comprised of key company personnel has been chosen to explore the most effective uses for the fund.
The league owes its inception to the success of the company’s Christmas toy drive. “The company was energized by the good will of the toy drive,” a company spokesperson explained, “and we wanted to recapture that energy with more charitable activities we could all share in and enjoy.” Since the flag football league was already a popular after-hours activity, the two seemed a natural fit for each other.
“After a few games have been played we’ll be able to get a handle on how much money will be donated to the fund,” the spokesperson said. “But we expect some great things to come of this.”
