About In His Own Time: A Story of Family, Friends, and Courage: On October 22, 2000 while traveling with her church to Round O, South Carolina, the 15-passenger van that was transporting Rhonda "Faye" Baker and 12 other church members suffered a blowout in the back tire. The driver lost control and the van flipped 3 times, landing face down in a ditch.
Upon impact, her 6th and 7th vertebrae snapped and Faye was immediately paralyzed. After being airlifted she heard the ominous news that she would never walk again - but Faye was determined to beat those odds.
