The latest study revealed a relationship between a calm and easy going personality and the risk of developing dementia. According to the research, published in Neurology journal, calm and relaxed people had a 50% lower risk of developing dementia than those who lead a very stressful and nervous life.
This means that lifestyle factors such as stress, anxiety or unhealthy diet can be modified if we want to stay happy and healthy to avoid diseases like dementia in future.
John Levine is an Australian composer of the sound he calls Alphamusic. He has developed a special formula to create soothing melodies helping us all stay calm and happy despite being in the middle of any crisis or problem. John has been interviewed on BBC TV ’Look East' and Channel 9 TV Australia showing how his special Alphamusic settles classes of children, calms babies and stressed people, and even puts budgies to sleep in daylight! ‘It’s all to do with changing the Beta stressed brainwaves to calmer Alpha waves’, John smiled. Being in the Alpha state means you are more peaceful, have better ideas, your mind acts rationally. When we wake up in the morning, after a good night sleep, we are refreshed and have our best and most insightful ideas. This is the state we call Alpha. But it is easily interrupted by listening to all the bad news we hear daily, dealing with everyday challenges. These get us wired up, causing our brainwaves to be pushed into the Beta stressed/fight-
John’s Alphamusic is being successfully used in a high security ward among dementia patients, with extraordinary results.
