Employer Solutions Group, a human resources outsourcing company that services businesses with employees working throughout the U.S., announces the launch of a new, large-group health insurance package that will bring quality, cost-effective healthcare services to the businesses it serves. The coverage, offered through Humana Insurance Company, will give employers and employees a large healthcare provider network, plus the option to establish Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

Mark Weaver, General Manager and Senior HR Consultant for ESG, said, “This is a very exciting service addition for us. We can now help our clients get the usual competitive rates for a desirable combination of benefits, and in some cases provide increased benefits at a reduced rate.”

Weaver noted that with certain insurance regulations changing at the beginning of 2009, many companies facing policy renewals for small group coverage may find their rates increasing by as much 40 percent. In contrast, the Humana Insurance Company Plan offered through ESG is an underwritten, large-group plan that operates under different guidelines and spreads risk across a number of companies, ultimately helping to smooth out some of the fluctuation in rate volatility.

Eric Foerster, Operations Manager/Superintendent of the The Ironbridge Golf Club, said, “For years we’ve looked for an affordable plan with an encompassing network for our geographical area. Usually, we find one or the other but not both, until Humana became an option for us through our association with ESG. ESG’s plan with Humana offers choices for our employees to select what’s best for them. Our company covers insurance for employees, and I estimate that by participating in this plan that ESG has with Humana that we will see an eight to ten thousand dollar savings this year in our insurance costs. I estimate that employees that have families on the plan will see an average savings of three to four hundred dollars a month. It's like getting a raise! We are all excited to work with ESG and Humana.”

The insurance coverage offered through ESG and Humana Insurance Company gives member businesses four plans from which to choose. The one Weaver expects to be most popular is a high-deductible, HSA-compatible plan. “The HSA plan offers lower monthly premiums, and gives employees the ability to save pre-tax money for their healthcare needs,” Weaver said. Money that employees deposit into their HSA rolls over from year to year, accumulating over time so that whenever they need it — whether in the short- or long-term, the money will be available. They can use a special debit card to pay for doctor’s appointments, prescriptions, and other health-related needs directly from their HSA.

“We are pleased to be working with ESG, a growing PEO that understands consumer products, and we feel they are a good fit for Humana Insurance Company,” said Bill Hrabik, Director of PEO Development at Humana Insurance Company.

“We are pleased to have this partnership with Humana Insurance Company,” said Weaver. “They have a good reputation in the insurance industry and a large network throughout the state where our clients are located. Best of all, Humana Insurance Company plans promote consumerism — an approach we agree with strongly. These plans encourage patients to seek the best costs when it comes to both healthcare and medications — and that creates stronger competition across the healthcare industry. Ultimately, that’s a benefit to everyone.”

ESG clients can choose between two high-deductible health plans; a plan with traditional co-pays for office visits and medications; and a third plan, called Coverage First, which is a “hybrid,” with Humana Insurance Company paying initial healthcare costs up to $500.

For complete details on all four plans and how to obtain coverage through ESG, businesses may contact the Loveland branch office at 1-888-810-8187.
