Miami, Florida, —Social events mark highlights in the lives of people and companies, and event planners have long helped to make these highlights special and stress-free. Today, however, in light of the enormous amounts of waste and pollution caused by large events, people are looking for alternatives. Beco Design Studio fills that need, helping people to create picture-perfect events while nurturing the environment in the process.
Started in 2008, Beco Design Studio plans and manages corporate meetings and tradeshows to large social events and weddings. Beco Byers, company President, worked in the events planning industry in Europe for several years before establishing himself in Miami, where Beco Design Studio is located.
Having seen the large amounts of waste and pollution produced by the events industry, Byers wanted to create a company that would align his passion for event planning with his values regarding the preservation of the environment. The combination of these forces resulted in Beco Design Studio, which incorporates the principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling into all aspects of events planning.
Using innovation to remake the events planning process, Beco Design Studio offers a wide range of services including event design, site location, budget development, contract negotiation, “day of” services, food and beverage planning, and every other detail necessary to make events and meetings successful. Environmental modifications include using locally grown or organic food and arranging for alternative modes of transportation, among many others.
For his innovations, Beco Byers was recognized as one of BizBash Magazine’s “20 Under 40” in the Florida events industry in 2007. He serves as the Director of Monthly Programs on the Board of Directors for the South Florida Chapter of Meeting Planners International. Byers is also a member 1% for the Planet and donates 1% of Beco Design Studio’s profits to environmental organizations.
Beco Design Studio realizes that budgets have been reduced as a result of the current economy. President Byers assures clients that Beco Design Studio will continue to provide quality events during this downturn according to clients’ budgets and that “effective events have less to do with expenditure and more to do with intention.”
