Doug began playing the big band sounds and singers of popular standards on WBAU (90.3FM), Adelphi University's radio station on his show "The Big Band Sound". He also hosted a show on WLFF radio in St. Petersburg, FL which at the time had a Big Band format. He also hosted a nighttime jazz program called "90 Jazz Place" on WUSF (89.7FM) in Tampa.
Seeing the need to keep this music alive on the airwaves in Sarasota/Bradenton, Doug started "The Big Band Files and All That Jazz" on WSRQ 1220 AM which aired from 2004-2008 and currently airs on 96.5FM WSLR and podcast on http://blog.milestonebroadcasting.com.
