What does the author of Assassin’s Mace, a political thriller, know about climbing the world’s highest mountain? Well that is a good question, let’s find out.
“It all started (the idea for the novel) with the first successful climb of Everest. I read about Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, and was like wow, these are real life explorers. They paved the way for others to follow. I then followed on Edmund Hillary’s follow up expeditions. Expedition Everest is about the adventure of a lifetime…a journey against the impossible, for the one chance to be apart of something great…something legendary,” says Evan Pedone. “The novel is Jurassic Park, King Kong, Indiana Jones, all wrapped up into one story, one adventure.”
Expedition Everest follows the adventures of Joseph Corso, a world class mountain climber who is suddenly contacted by billionaire Jonathan Drake.. Pedone purposely wanted to delve away from the normal lead roles and chose a multi-ethnic character to be the star (Corso’s father is Italian, and his mother is Yakima Indian). Corso soon finds himself leading the expedition of a lifetime on the world’s most dangerous mountain against unknown perils during the dangerous monsoon season. The novel is a Sci-Fi Adventure with nonstop adrenaline, typical of his novel Assassin’s Mace only expanded upon.
Pedone hopes that he can possibly get the attention of a movie studio to produce the movie, though this is difficult, because he is still a relative unknown in the realm of writing and entertainment.
“Universal Studios or Disney would be great, but at this point in my career I am all ears,” says Pedone.
