Jan. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates (CBC®), one of the largest commercial real estate brokerage franchise systems, is incorporating a revolutionary three dimensional mapping technology from Microsoft Corp. into its public facing Web site, www.CBCWorldwide.com and all local affiliate websites.

Microsoft Virtual Earth 3D offers an immersive 3D search experience that allows visitors to www.CBCWorldwide.com to explore and view property listings displayed on the Web site in a variety of vantage points and perspectives through a three-dimensional setting. This new technology will be offered free to all CBC professionals and clients and will serve as an upgrade to the current Virtual Earth mapping that has been a feature of www.CBCWorldwide.com since its launch in early 2008. Virtual Earth represents a commitment by Microsoft to produce location-enabling platforms and technology that can be embedded and used with a wide range of enterprise, retail and Web-based products.

Virtual Earth 3D will also be a component of the recently announced “Local Worldwide” initiative, in which each CBC affiliated company now can create its own new Web site mirroring the overall look and feel of the award-winning www.CBCWorldwide.com Web site, yet with a customized appearance representing their particular market. Hosted on the CBC corporate servers, these new local sites offer all of the same features of the national site, which will now include Virtual Earth 3D.

“The CBC organization is dedicated to offering the most advanced technologies in commercial real estate to our professionals and clients, ensuring they both remain ahead of the industry curve,” says Jason Silfies, vice president of marketing and technology for Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates. “Our company has been an enthusiastic supporter of Microsoft’s mapping proficiency and upgrading to Virtual Earth 3D on both our national and local Web sites was a logical next step for our technology value proposition.”
Launched in early 2008, CBCWorldwide.com is the national corporate Web site for Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates. Its progressive features make it one of the most sophisticated  in the current commercial real estate market, and the site been the recipient of several awards, including the prestigious Realcomm “Digie” award that recognizes top technology and automation in commercial real estate.
