'Step into our Parlor!' New Art Gallery Opens in Asbury Park, New Jersey

Jan. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- Asbury Park, NJ - Crybaby Art Gallery, located at 717 Cookman Ave, Asbury Park, New Jersey is recreating itself with a new name and a new partner. Crybaby Gallery will soon become Parlor Gallery with original curator, Jenn Hampton and new partners Jill Ricci and Michael Walker. Their vision is to make sure that as Asbury Park grows, so does the artistic community.

Parlor Gallery will feature art in a multitude of mediums and from local and national artists in their 3000 sq foot gallery. Parlor Gallery will showcase a large cross section of art being offered to the public and private collectors. The gallery also serves as a platform for many young artists who may not yet have had an opportunity to exhibit their work elsewhere. The main gallery will focus on mixed media, abstract, outsider, erotic, graffiti and pop-influenced work. Their designer resource room will showcase more mainstream fine art along with a flat file of prints and photographs.

With the continuing growth of the art scene in Asbury Park, Parlor Gallery will help in the creation of their own "Art Block" on Cookman Ave. Future plans to host art shows in the community park across the street as well as offering their space to local non-profits and business owners for fundraising and events will further help establish Parlor Gallery and Asbury Park as the premier art destination of the Jersey Shore.

Additional services offered by Parlor Gallery include installation, corporate and private curating, interior design, murals and decorative painting.

Parlor Gallery is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays 12noon to 6pm, Fridays and Saturdays 12noon to 9pm and Sundays 12noon to 6pm. Parlor is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and stays open until 10pm every first Saturday of the month in honor of "First Saturday Asbury Park".
