On Saturday, Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity will dedicate a house built in celebration of the organization’s 15th year anniversary.  The house, located at 526 E. Eufaula, was designed and built by over three hundred volunteers from local churches, businesses, university students and other organizations. The new homeowners Larissa Bruner and family contributed over three hundred hours of “sweat equity” building their home.  Executive Director Jana Castleberry states  “The dedication of this house is truly a celebration of the spirit of volunteerism and the amazing contributions of dedicated, hardworking volunteers, a passionate and committed board of directors and this great community of generous supporters. Without these things, Habitat’s mission would not be possible.”  Board President Kathryn Frazier adds “This event marks a new era for Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity.  The greater community is calling on us to grow. As we celebrate 15 years of building simple affordable homes, we look forward to the future as we expand our construction capacity, explore new ways of increasing energy efficiency and employ higher standards of sustainable building practices.”
