It's been a long journey into soul for Audley, 2009 is the not only the year that Motown racks up its 50th anniversary, but it's also the year that he finally releases his long anticipated Motown-influenced debut single 'Undress U'. Sales of physical CDs have plummeted - the future is digital. Now it's time for Audley to practise what he's been preaching to his students and is heralding the launch of AudioSnooze his new indie label in partnership with his long-standing media collaborator, Brighton-based Cazz B. This brand new enterprise intends to focus unashamedly on promoting mainstream soulful pop music rather than the usual RnB vibe, aiming at the discerning 25+ demographic who appreciate great vocals and classic soul sounds.
Audley confesses “I admit I am a bit of a perfectionist, I have always had a specific concept for 'Undress U', my love of Motown and Philly sounds has helped shape it into the final result, though it's incredible how long the process takes. I have certainly been blessed to be able to call on top musicians/engineers such as Don-E and Darryl LaVictoire to help create my sound, Cazz and AudioSnooze have been instrumental in getting the product to the market. I'm really excited that it's ready for release in the run-up to Valentine's Day. We're not even fazed by the so-called credit-crunch, through sheer hard work and with 'kismet' on our side hopefully our little green shoot of a music company will flourish, and evolve into one with many diverse branches!"
Cazz explains “I'm not a big a fan of pop reality shows, so you can imagine I was dubious that an ex-reality show contestant could cut-it in a live scenario, happily I was proved totally wrong! Wherever he plays a gig we are overwhelmed by amazingly positive feedback. Audley's vocals are exceptional, he writes his own material and is now getting into the production side of the business” She continues “too many people in the music business have unrealistic expectations, thankfully Audley isn't one of them. To get his music 'out there', we've worked literally night and day on this project, at long last there's light at the end of our tunnel!”
Keen to support local business, Audley has arranged for the 'Undress U' promo to be shot at Selsdon Park Hotel & Golf Club near Croydon sometime in February. If you book early, you could be lucky enough to catch his performance at the same venue on Valentine's Day.
