In December of 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved LatisseTM, the first and only prescription treatment for hypotrichosis, or inadequate eyelashes. If use of the product is discontinued, eyelashes will simply return to their previous state over a period of weeks to months, or an average eyelash hair cycle.
