Jan. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- John Bennett and Rae Vallan are gentlemen in their eighties, yet when you meet these two lively characters, their joie de vivre and sharp, incisive intelligence remind you that age is no bar to youthfulness! Both are inventors - thorough, patient and pragmatic – and both share a limitless enthusiasm for their inventions, marketed by Transatlantic Distribution, a world-leading company that provides distribution solutions to outstanding products based on exceptional technology.

Aerowalkers – foot exercise for mobility and well-being

“I’ve developed a range of original products for the NHS,” says John, a former Navy gunnery officer turned inventor, “and I’ve always focused on designs that bring comfort and physical support to users. Given the growing population of older people, there’s an increasing need for such products – especially in the area of personal mobility.” And that was precisely what led John to develop Aerowalkers, revolutionary footwear that allows wearers to improve health and well-being through simple exercise whilst sitting down, resting or recuperating. Aerowalkers are inflatable foot-shaped cushions that look like slippers – and by rocking the feet back and forwards on the floor, the user pushes air between front and rear chambers, resulting in a range of impressive benefits. “Aerowalkers can maintain blood flow, relax the feet and improve circulation,” says John, “plus they tone muscles, build muscular density and can help minimise risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis during long flights. They also address oedema, post-fracture muscle recuperation, sports injuries and many other problems.”

Quicksnip – well researched & designed – for a ready market

Aerowalkers are proving to be highly successful amongst John’s carefully selected target groups – and he shares a methodical approach to research with Rae Vallan, a fellow octogenarian, whose Quicksnip device was developed out of personal experience, research with family and friends, plus exhaustive investigation of widespread markets. “I’ve always found it difficult to open small sachets or portion pouches in restaurants and cafes, aeroplanes and trains, and when I looked into it, I discovered that many others found the same,” comments Rae. “They can be awkward, messy and hard to open – which is why I invented the Quicksnip!” This handy and superbly designed device snips the pouch and contains it at the same time, making the whole business of holding, opening and accessing sachet contents simplicity itself. “There’s been an amazingly positive response to the Quicksnip,” comments Rae, “and it appeals equally to individual users, as well as food servers who want to provide a better standard of service to customers. In fact we’ve had excellent feedback from pubs, kitchenware retailers and catering suppliers who have placed Quicksnip orders.”

“We see enormous potential in both these products,” says Roark McMaster, Managing Director of Transatlantic Distribution. “Aerowalkers and the Quicksnip are both superbly thought-out and designed – and we’re delighted to support inventors whose maturity, experience and determination to succeed have led to such successful and useful new products.”
