Fashion magazines and trend analysts are reporting that there is a distinct lack of trends for 2009, with the biggest trend being for individuals to be different and unique. Fashion designers are also preferring to play to their own strengths rather than following the season’s trends. This marked change in fashion is likely to be a result of the global recession and credit crunch. It has caused fashion loving consumers, who have now been named recessionistas, to think more carefully about which clothes they buy. They no longer want the latest ‘It’ bag or piece of fast fashion, they prefer individual pieces that will last for seasons to come. Fashion and street style blogs have also created a greater confidence in trying out new styles without spending a lot of money on designer goods.
Munique Fashion has led the way in encouraging women of all ages to celebrate their individuality and find accessories that “get others talking”. Arline James Thomas, Founder and Director of Munique Fashions said “We source fashion and accessories from artisans around the world. These exotic designs communicate rarity and say something about the wearer. Our fashions are specially selected for their uniqueness, they are not available on the high street”. Munique fashions also has it’s own fashion and style blog offering inspiration to it’s visitors on how to find their own unique style.
