Steve Flockhart says that baptism is an opportunity for Christians to demonstrate what  Christ has done in their lives. He also talks about baptism as an act of obedience for  believers. He states that baptism is a symbol of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. According to Steve Flockhart, the act of baptism represents all of our sins being buried with Christ, and we are raised to walk in a newness of life. Jesus gives us a brand new life when we are saved, and baptism is an act of obedience for believers. It is a representation of what Christ has done for us, and a testimony to others.

Steve Flockhart says Baptism is an important step toward obeying God. Steve Flockhart also mentions that the method of baptism is extremely significant. At New Season Church, believers are baptized by immersion – meaning fully submersed in water – just as Jesus himself was when he was baptized by John the Baptist. Baptism in this way is what Christ asks us to do and demonstrated himself. We are baptized after we personally receive Christ as our Savior, so we understand what we are doing, we fully make the choice, and it is part of our testimony to others. People who are not baptized in this way miss this important opportunity. Many people who were 'baptized as infants' before they were old enough to make the decision themselves, are often re-baptized in this biblical way when they understand the significance of what they are doing. Steve Flockhart sums up his sermon by inviting listeners to join him in obedience and believers baptism. Thirty three people were baptized during Pastor Steve Flockhart's sermon series, 'Just Add Water'. Another 24 people have been baptized at New Season Church this month.
