Jan. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Vicksburg will celebrate Mardi Gras in style at the 7th annual Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 8:00pm in the Southern Cultural Heritage Auditorium.  This fun evening will include a cocktail buffet and cash bar.  Musical entertainment will be provided by the Colonels.

The Ball is a fundraiser for the Vicksburg Foundation for Historic Preservation, whose mission is to preserve and protect Vicksburg’s unique architectural heritage for future generations to enjoy.  In its 7th year, the event is black tie optional and remains Vicksburg’s only Mardi Gras Ball and follows the 8th Annual Mardi Gras Parade which takes place at 4:00 on Washington Street in downtown Vicksburg.

“The Colonels” will keep the good times rolling with rock and roll from 8:00 to midnight.   They were recently named Best Country Artist 2009 by the Jackson Free Press.  The Colonels are five homegrown Mississippi boys out of Brookhaven. Members Josh Brister, Topher Brown, Brett Hart, Charlie Townsend and Marvin “Chatty” Curtis are heartthrobs with college girls.  With a growing fan base, you can catch them playing shows all over the state.

Advance Tickets are $30 per person and $40 at the door and are available at Paper Plus in downtown Vicksburg or by calling the Foundation at 601.636.5010.
