SSC released today the specifications of the Ultimate Aero EV revealing its revolutionary Green technologies. SSC will incorporate its all-electric powertrain into the current Ultimate Aero to create the Ultimate Aero EV. As the "World's Fastest Production Car," the Ultimate Aero is the perfect high visibility outlet to demonstrate the capabilities of the All-Electric Scalable Powertrain (AESP).
The Ultimate Aero Specifications puts its top speed at 208 mph and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds generating 1000+ horsepower and 800+ft/lb of Torque. This super high performance electric vehicle will be able to achieve a 150-200 mile battery range on only a 10 minute full battery recharge on a standard 110 outlet. The “Charge on the Run” Nanotechnology Lithium battery yields a life expectancy of 20 years. The Ultimate Aero EV will contain twin 375 kW 3-Phase AC Induction Motors in a 3-speed automatic configuration yielding a curb weight of 2950 pounds and an amazingly low .348 coefficient of drag.
SSC will showcase its revolutionary Green technologies in the Ultimate Aero EV proving that electric-powered cars will not only match but also provide more linear power (electric motors have 100% torque at 0 RPM) and overall performance than internal combustion cars.
SSC’s Green division (SSC Green, Inc.) will provide packaged solutions of its AESP (All-Electric Scalable Powertrain) to a wide variety of applications ranging from 200 horsepower for economy and midsize cars, to 500 horsepower for light trucks and SUVs, and up to 1200 horsepower for delivery trucks, heavy duty equipment, buses and military vehicles.
SSC expects to roll out its first full-scale, pre-production Ultimate Aero EV in second quarter 2009. Ultimate Aero EV deliveries will start as early as fourth quarter 2009. SSC will pursue the title of "World's Fastest Production Electric Car" and conduct a marketing campaign consisting of international motor shows, magazine articles, TV appearances and live media events.
