San Antonio, TX – Inspired eLearning has released a five-course, Web-based sexual harassment training program that addresses workplace harassment prevention and response. The program is designed for both employees and supervisors and explains how to prevent sexual and other forms of workplace harassment as well as how to properly conduct an investigation and prevent retaliation.
The program was developed by a team of experts that includes a former chairman of the U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a former EEOC trial lawyer and an employment lawyer who specializes in defense of corporations against EEOC complaints. Their experience provided a deep understanding of the types of mistakes employers make, how to avoid them, and how to foster a harassment-free workplace.
The new harassment prevention and response program can be bought off-the-shelf or fully customized. Company-
According to Martin Rico, CEO of Inspired eLearning, harassment prevention and training programs not only educate the workforce, but protect employees and corporate assets in the event of a lawsuit. In 2007, EEOC received 27,112 charges of harassment (including sexual), resolved 83 percent of the cases and facilitated $65.6 million in benefits for the charging parties (here’s the reference for the statistic, if you need it http://www.eeoc.gov/
Harassment training is mandated by government agencies and many states for companies with 50 employees or more. Inspired eLearning’s sexual harassment training program was designed for a national audience and includes specific requirements for all 50 states and addresses more than just gender-based harassment.
Real-world scenarios, case studies, statistics and stories, along with engaging interactivities, are used to reinforce key learning objectives and "prove the point" about the importance of maintaining a harassment-free workplace.
Rico adds, "Workplace harassment training can help prevent all forms of harassment from happening – age, race, gender, pregnancy status, disability, sexual orientation and others that are clearly protected by law. Our Web-based learning helps build a culture of respect and tolerance within an organization. Not only is this the ethical thing to do and good for employees, but prevention and response training can protect a company’s bottom line. Courts do award large settlements if they think an organization has flagrantly ignored the law requiring harassment training and prevention programs. So in the end, it’s good for business.”
