Tasty Tees is Supporting the Arts One T-shirt at a Time

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 21, 2009 - Tasty Tees announces the release of the limited edition “Fossil Fuels” t-shirt showcasing the work of artist Michael Ricardo Andreev.  This one-of-a-kind t-shirt will be featured alongside work by the artist at the official release party on January 29th at Madame X lounge in New York City.

Spare in construction and in color, New York City-based Michael Ricardo Andreev’s work speaks to Europe’s and the U.S.’s tangled relationships to African-American and Afro-Caribbean cultures. The work, according to Andreev, functions as allegory, and the paintings, he has said, “create an emotional dialogue within the classical realm of a collective unconscious.”  Andreev has exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art and Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. His work can be found in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (New York).

Tasty Tees releases a new t-shirt every 6 to 8 weeks, featuring designs from artists, such as Michael Ricardo Andreev.  Every Tasty Tees’ design is representative of the individual artist’s personality and style. All t-shirts are individually numbered and feature information about the artist and design on the back of the shirt.  

“Tasty Tees strives to bring together artists, creative types and fashionable t-shirt lovers in an informal, fun way and in the process create wearable art,” says Tobias. “Each tee is essentially a portable art exhibition for our talented featured artists, such as Michael Ricardo Andreev.”
