“People have been asking us to open for breakfast, so we expanded our hours in December,” Sue Froyd said. “Bittersweet offers a deliciously different morning menu that our customers love.”
So far, the restaurant has been drawing a good-sized morning crowd from downtown businesses, Froyd said. “It’s a joy to watch people enjoy breakfast.”
Located at 211 First Avenue South in downtown Kent, Bittersweet Restaurant is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m. on weekdays, and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch is available daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Comfortably seating 55, the restaurant is available in the evenings for banquets, business meetings, rehearsal dinners and other functions. In addition to Bittersweet, Stephen and Sue Froyd own Maggie’s on Meeker, Excellent Eats catering and AAA Pest Control.
