Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan Names Edith J. Castillo as Program Officer

Castillo's primary responsibility will be to provide program support for the New Economy Initiative.

PR Log (Press Release)Jan 21, 2009 – The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan (www.cfsem.org) announced the hiring of Edith J. Castillo as its program officer.  In her new role, Castillo will support grant-making activities of the Community Foundation and assist in identifying community needs and funding opportunities.  Her primary responsibility will be to provide program support for the New Economy Initiative.  

Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Castillo served as Deputy Director of the Southwest Detroit Business Association.  Her previous experience also includes leadership positions in several organizations that promote social and economic development.

Castillo received a master’s degree from the University of Southern California-Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in human services from California State University at Fullerton.
