Hotel Le Grand Balcon, just steps from Place du Capitol Toulouse, has been reopened this month as a design-lifestyle hotel. The hotel retains the pioneer aviator spirit of Saint Expuery, Mermoz, guests from the Aeropostale era, but has been completely re-imagined by architect-designer, Jean-Phillipe Nuel.
Hotel Le Grand Balcon’s décor and furnishings are cool and comfortable using various hues of grey to produce a zen effect. Backlit photos of clouds, quotes from Saint Exupery’s writings contribute to the unique ambiance in the hotel.
The 47 guestrooms are well equipped for today’s traveller. The hotel accommodations are classified as cosy, classic, privilege and deluxe, they feature:

Notably, Chambre 32, the guestroom of writer-aviator Saint Exupery, has been restored to the days of his residence. Replicas of the original furnishings make a stay in this one of a kind room a step back in time.
Working with some of the original tile and woodwork in the hotel entry, architect Nuel has created a two area lobby-bar-salon with a retro feel. Buffet breakfast is served in this area. As well, the Salon-bar is open daily to hotel guests and local visitors.
