For over twenty-five years, Gelman has been a public relations, marketing communications and promotions specialist. His work includes noteworthy campaigns for media and tech clients, consumer products, and service industries.
Gelman was an advisory board member of the Women's Sports Foundation for over ten years and a trustee and board secretary of the Arthur Ashe Athletic Association. He has served as on the Board of Overseers at his alma mater Emerson College in Boston and is presently the Vice President of the New York Emerson Alumni Club. He was a member of the executive committee of the Brooklyn Sports Foundation, former treasurer of the New York board for the "Race for the Cure" and is on the board of directors of Greater Community Through Legal Lives.
