Marc Liu founded Capital Isle Partners LLC in 1992 as a strategic profit development consultancy specializing in publishing, direct-marketing and web media businesses. Some of his better known clients have been: Evercore Partners, Boardroom Reports Inc, Willis Stein Partners, HealthDay Reports, SRDS Inc, Belvoir Publications, TV Guide, American Media Inc, and Petersen Publishing. Prior to consulting, he had a series of managerial assignments: EVP at AZ List Marketing-increased profits 600% and sold business for owner over 2 years, EVP/co-founder at Lear Publishing - launched Lear’s Magazine and took the magazine from zero to $25 million in revenues, 500,000 in circulation and 600 ad pages over 3 years, President of Providence Journal’s Magazine Division (near bankrupt Soap Opera Digest) - doubled revenues and circulation, built profits from a loss of $4 million to a profit of $4 million over five years and sold the business for $40 million.
