Indulging at the Jersey Shore has never been sweeter, as the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce launches its first Chocolate Week, February 8-10. Whether you are planning a getaway or getting the VIP treatment while browsing through summer vacation rentals; this promotion ties in lodging, dining, and valentine related activities with special discounts and offers. “This week is meant to be shared, we are very excited to partner with AboutNewjersey.com and expand our outreach to New Jersey travelers” stated Lori Pepenella, Destination Marketing Director for the Chamber, “Their website has loyal visitors and has a strong commitment to supporting New Jersey attractions.”
AboutNewjersey.com, was founded ten years ago and has built its web presence into the most comprehensive online travel website for the state, attracting upwards of 29,000 unique visitors a month. Robert Rosetta, AboutNewjersey.com President has promised to add new functionality, as well as themed monthly newsletters in the upcoming year. The site already contains a statewide special events guide, travel reporting and videos, lodging and dining as well as contests. “With slightly over 50 percent of our visitors coming from New Jersey, we have plenty of out of state traffic as well. New York and Pennsylvania viewers continue to round out our top three states,” reports Rosetta “we also attract hits from California, Massachusetts, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Texas.”
In addition to running Chocolate Week Banner advertisements and editorial on their website and in their January “Valentine Issue” of their e newsletter, they are also promoting a winter contest to help Valentine traffic get introduced to the Wedding Roadshow event, with an overnight Bed and Breakfast stay at Minerva’s By the Sea, Barnegat Light and a dinner package for April 18, 2009.
