uRide.tv will be featuring videos from The 2009 Tour of California

Jan. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- uRide.tv has been approved to film and publish video of the 2009 Amgen Tour of California. According to the CEO, Sami Tauber of BikeWear World L.L.C., “this is monumental for both uRide.tv and cycling fans worldwide. With 1.8 million fans, more than 700 miles of cycling terrain, 8 teams with amazing credentials, the 2009 Tour of California will prove to cycling fans everywhere that cycling is moving forward, like wheels in motion.”

The Tour of California starts on February 14th, 2009 in Sacramento, California which happens to be the State capitol. The course on the first day is a time trial for a total of 2.4 miles. Stage 1 will be taking place in Davis, riding to Santa Rosa, a total of 107.6 miles. Stage 2 will be from Sausalito to Santa Cruz, 115.9 miles, which includes climbing and spectacular descents. Stage 3, from San Jose to Modesto, is a 104.2 miles trek and 1930 feet of elevation climb separating the field. Stage 4 will be in the Sierra Mountains of Merced to Clovis, California and 115.4 miles. Stage 5, sponsored by Rabobank, is a long flat road course covering Visalia to Paso Robles, 134.3 miles. Solvang will host a 15 mile time trial course on Friday, February 20th. The Santa Clarita to Pasadena route will show southern California residents and viewers what cycling is all about: the energy, the passion, the dedication of the second highest climb ever achieved in the Tour or 88.9 miles of fun. And lastly, Stage 8 will end in sunny San Diego, California with Palomar Mountain being the toughest obstacle, 7% grade incline, 4,200 feet of climbing, 21 switchbacks, completely separating the field one pedal at a time.

“We invite and encourage you to watch the Amgen Tour of California, but make sure to check out uRide.tv’s video of the coolest comebacks and achievements the cycling field has seen in a while,” says Tauber. “We will be participating in Sacramento for the prologue and in Escondido, to witness the climb and descents of Palomar Mountain.”
