President George W. Bush continued his unbeaten record of blunders with the English language, (or is that meant to be 'Bush Language')? As President George W. Bush left the podium, at the end of his long long long farewell speech, he raised his hand in a parting gesture to the gathered correspondents. Clearly and very strongly he said: "Let me leave you with this one last thing. You have all mis-underestimated me".

Nice one Mr Bush. You say they have not given you enough credit! In adding a negative prefix to a word, you make it the opposite, as in mis-appropriate, miss-adventure etc. It seems in his parting shot, soon-to-be-ex-President George W. Bush, may have got something right for a once. From his own mouth, he claimed the world has given him too much credit. Perhaps it was a subconscious reflection of what he had given the banks.
Now while on the theme of Prime Ministers, take a look at ex Prime Minister Howard's latest blooper.  Not only was a Qantas flight held up for a long 55 minutes, due to an extra security check because Mr Howard was on board...

President-elect Barack Obama requested to shift into the pre-inaugural residence a few days earlier than normal, so as to settle his child into school, at the correct time. However, the Bush administration informed the president-elect that this was not possible. Someone had already booked the residence out.

At the time this was released to the media, one expected it to be a royal member, or at least a ruling Head of State, that was given priority.  No, it was simply an ex-prime minister. The ex-prime minister of Australia, John Howard!

If there had been a quick check on the Washington hotels, do you think there would have been No Vacancies? After all it is common practice on the part of accommodation providers to ‘overbook’ their rooms. Someone is sure to cancel. Mr Howard could well have been expected to move.

What did ex-Prime Minister Howard dream of as he slept in the bed that should have been occupied by Barack Obama? Let’s hope ex-Prime Minister John Howard is not holding his breath hoping for an invitation to the White House in the next four years or so.
